The Job

The Job
(An reception room for a network executive. A job applicant sits tensely and waits for her interview.)

Receptionist: Don't be so nervous! You'll do fine.

Applicant: Thank you. (The boss's door opens and a screaming woman flees in terror.)

Receptionist: Looks like the boss is ready to see you now. Good luck. (The applicant rises and heads tentatively through the door. Inside she is greeted with a handshake by a well dressed man and asked to take a seat.)

Boss: So, what sort of work are you looking for?

Applicant: I thought you might determine that from my portfolio.

Boss: Ah, you're an artist. Fine. We could use some help with our storyboards. (He pulls brass knuckles out of his desk and puts them on.) This will only take a minute. (He winds up for a punch.)

Applicant: No! I'm a new graduate of the broadcasting program! (The boss stops short of hitting her in the face.)

Boss: Oh, you're a reporter! Why didn't you say so? We could use some help in our news room. This won't take longer than ten minutes. (He rises and lowers his pants as the camera angle switches to a view from his back. The applicant's face shows horror at what she beholds.)

Applicant: It's ghastly! It's got scribbling all over it!

Boss: What's the matter? Don't you like my tattoos?

(The applicant gets up and flees the office in panic.)
