Figments

Figments
Refuse to realize what lies ahead
You choose to idealize instead

Think what can be revealed
In an abundant field
Hanging between the daffodils
Hardly a gap to fill

The truth does not seem to trouble you
What ruse did they use to so befuddle you?

Heavy the curtains loom
Forecast of certain doom
Echoing as a pantomime
Vainly to pass the time
Under a spreading shroud
Chasing the silver cloud
Figments will not be hard to find
When to false hopes resigned

Secure in your air of innocence
And arguing doesn't make a bit of sense

Novelty on your side
No stunt you haven't tried
Spiraling down a winding hill
Yesterday standing still
Under a raging sky
Holding your head up high
Figments will let you stay inside
When to go they decide
